Get a Grip!
2 Peter 1:5 But also for this very reason,giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6: to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7: to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8: For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9: For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10: Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11: for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
with some many people acting based on shear emotion now-a-days we who are in Christ Jesus must now more then ever before operate with self control, not only as we are commanded according to the word of God but as an example of godly conduct unto the world. As I was working in the office at a local high school, a young girl came in and said "I had to cuss my teacher out" I replied "a good cussing out is not as effective as it used to be" she ask what did that mean, I explained to her that when I was growing up to cuss someone out would not only get everyone's attention but they'd fear you too but now days folks are getting paid to not only cuss but fight one and other on TV and then they walk down the same red carpet as the top actors/artists," I said "you need to figure out a different way to express your emotions" she said "I never thought about it like that." For us believers the word says to act without self control causes us to be shortsighted even to blindness which in these perilous times we can not afford to be. however if we do according to 2 Peter 1: 5 - 11 the word says that we will never stumble and our entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
